The most popular of those markets has always been the 'Weekend Market' also known as Talad Nad Chaofa which opens each and every Saturday & Sunday. However, this market is soon to have a rival in the shape of the 'Phuket Walking Street Market' which is due open each and every Sunday from the end of September. This new and exciting market will see Phuket Town's Thalang Road & Soi Romanee closed to vehicles and turned into a walking street from where visitors will be able to purchase goods including souvenirs, arts and crafts, and of course one of the most popular items, food. The idea is based on the walking street market in the northern Chiang Mai province and is being organized by the Phuket Old Town Community. It will definitely be worth checking out!
