Although the temperature outside will be peeking at 31°C and the only snow you’ll find will be on the screen of a television set, you certainly don’t need to miss out on the Yuletide festivities if you spend Christmas in Phuket.
Although Thailand is predominantly Buddhist, Thai culture is generally open and respectful of other religions and Christmas is embraced by many as a festive, secular holiday. Commercial areas are decked with traditional Christmas decorations, and many restaurants and resorts on the island offer special dinners throughout the Christmas and New Year period.
