A ritual is observed in which water is poured over elders in a gesture of respect and reverence. As April is one of the hottest months of the year, vacationers and travelers are involved in a huge water throwing celebration. Water is splashed over people riding in vehicles or just walking on the roads just to provide relief from the heat.
